
Stephen is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute. Since 2003 he has been employed at a land use planning consulting firm where he acts for a number of major national retailers and REIT’s. He is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s School of Planning and of the University of Waterloo-Oxford Brookes University (UK) Exchange Program in Planning.
Stephen’s interest in railways started at an early age during summer visits to his grandparents in Scotland and being exposed to preserved railways in the UK. From this he spent his youth in Chatham Ontario watching CN, VIA and Chessie System trains run near his home. In addition to his involvement with the TRHA he is a member of the 6880 Betton Grange Society, which is constructing a new Great Western Railway 4-6-0 Grange class steam locomotive at the Llangollen Railway in Wales. He is an active HO and OO Gauge model railroader and specializes in designing model railroad components for 3D printing.
