Preparing for our permanent track installation!

The current tracks radiating from the turntable in Roundhouse Park are temporary trackage. A key to progressing with further development of the museum is the installation of permanent trackage.
.
Today, PNR Rail Services began to deliver track materials for the Toronto Railway Heritage Centre trackage to be built this summer. Steel ties are to be used for longevity and cost reasons in all places where the ties will not be visible. All 32 roundhouse stalls will be re-connected to the turntable.

Visiting Don Station on Canada Day!

In the picture at left, we see visitors enjoying the displays at Don Station at Todmorden Mills on Canada Day. This is the third year that the TRHA has interpreted the station at Todmorden on July 1. In the middle picture, TRHA President Orin Krivel engages with some of the many visitors who came to visit Don Station.
.
In the picture at the right, John Mellow and Orin Krivel chat with a visitor on Canada Day. John was a Canadian Pacific operator who worked at Don when the station was at its original location in the mid-1960s. John will be a key player in helping the TRHA interpret the station once it's moved to Roundhouse Park.
